Compounding is the creation of a pharmaceutical preparation or a drug by a licensed pharmacist to meet the unique needs of an individual patient (either human or animal) when a commercially available drug does not meet those needs. Compounding pharmacists tailor prescription needs in various strengths, dosage forms or nutritional medicine custom tailored for the patient.
Pharmacists are healthcare professionals who specialize in the quality of medicines supplied to patients. Their responsibilities include ensuring the supply of medicines are within the law, ensuring medicines prescribed to patients are suitable, and advising patients on medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur, and answering patients’ questions.
Today, Vanita used her compunding skills in tailoring science-based natural and pharmaceutical medication to suit a patient’s needs based on validated functional pathology lab results.
